EPP Finance Ministers, chaired by Valdis DOMBROVSKIS, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification, Latvia, and Paschal DONOHOE, President of the Eurogroup and Minister of Finance of Ireland, met this morning in Warsaw to prepare the upcoming Informal Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN).
The ministers discussed the Informal Eurogroup meeting that took place on the previous day, followed by a debate on ways to bolster European competitiveness. They emphasized the need to remove bureaucratic hurdles, enhance the Single Market, and foster innovation across all Member States. The ministers also focused on security and defence financing, highlighting the importance of a strong and unified European response to evolving global challenges. They also engaged in a debate on the state of play of the economic and financial impact of the Russia's continuous aggression against Ukraine.
