The European People’s Party is looking for an assistant to work for the office of the EPP Secretary General on preparations for the EPP Congress in March 2024 and the 2024 European Parliament election campaign. The contract will be for a period of seven months, starting in January 2024. The candidates must be available full-time, hard-working, flexible, capable of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and able to meet competing deadlines.
Requirements
A university degree, preferably in politics, European policy, international relations, communications or law.
Full professional fluency, written and verbal, in English is mandatory as the working language of the office. Knowledge of any other language is an asset.
Excellent written skills and the ability to analyse policy.
A pragmatic thinker who can multitask.
A comprehensive knowledge of the European political, EU policy landscape and EPP family.
Able to work as part of a multi-national team, as well as independently.
Experience
Candidates must have at least a year and a half of experience in a related field.
Tasks
Providing secretarial and general office support to the EPP Secretary General, including: responding to emails, managing diary appointments, responding to information requests, booking meetings and organising travel arrangements.
Document preparation, briefing notes and memo writing as appropriate.
Research and drafting of speeches, documents and notes.

The Party Platform was developed in EPP Working Group 1 for “European Policy” chaired by EPP President Wilfried MARTENS ?and EPP Vice President Peter HINTZE. The Working Group consists of delegates of EPP member parties who prepared and worked?on this document for more than two years and received input?from the drafting committee as well as senior and young experts. The document was adopted at the 2012 EPP Congress in Bucharest, thus replacing the Basic Programme of Athens from 1992.
