The parliamentary elections of October 26th in Georgia were conducted in an environment of fear and intimidation, in total violation of vote secrecy and did not reflect the free will of the Georgian people.
The EPP does not recognize the legitimacy of such elections and calls on the Georgian government not to hold the first session of the new Parliament, pending international investigation of election fraud.
We condemn any use of violence against those demonstrating peacefully for free and fair elections and stand by the Georgian people in the pursuit of their European aspirations.
